Data Release 37

This is Data Release 37, released on August 26th, 2026. To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^37. To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 37. See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.

Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The 37.37 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 37.

New Data

  • Carbon Minds: Granular emission factors for a range of chemical products and regions, retrieved from version 2.03.
  • DEFRA / BEIS: Spend-based emission factors for goods and services across UK economic sectors for 2019-2023.
  • Climatiq: Adjusting DEFRA/ BEIS spend-based emission factors for inflation and translating into purchaser prices by applying trade and tax margins for 2023 to 2025.
  • Government of Canada: Electricity generation data and transmission and distribution losses across Canadian provinces and territories for 2024.
  • DCCEEW / DISER (NGER): Electricity generation data for Australian states and territories for 2026.
  • MITECO: Supplier-specific electricity emission factors for Spain for 2025.
  • MfE: Electricity supplier mix data and transmission and distribution losses for New Zealand for 2025.
  • UBA Austria: Electricity generation data for multiple energy sources for Austria for 2025.

  • Government of Taiwan: Electricity supplier mix data for Taiwan for 2025.
  • Agency for Natural Resources and Energy: Electricity generation mix data for Japan for 2024.
  • Energy Commission of Malaysia: Electricity generation mix data for Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak, reflecting their respective regional generation mixes.
  • Ministry of Ecology and Environment & National Bureau of Statistics: Electricity supplier mix data for China for 2023 and 2024.
  • ISPRA: Electricity supplier mix data and transmission and distribution losses for Italy for 2025.
  • SEFR: Electricity supplier mix data for Singapore for 2024.

Data Changed

  • Circular Ecology: From September 2026, ICE v4 data will be available in Climatiq as a premium dataset, following Circular Ecology’s transition to a licensed database for commercial use through IC+.
  • DEFRA / BEIS: Updated historical spend-based emission factor values for 2019-2022.
  • Climatiq: Updated historical spend-based emission factor values for 2023-2024.
  • EEA: Updated electricity generation mix emission factor values for European countries following revisions from the source.
  • Government of Canada: Updated electricity generation data and transmission and distribution losses across Canadian provinces and territories for 2019-2023.
  • MfE:
    • Updated electricity emission factors following revisions to historical data from the source.
    • Updated the dataset name for all years to reflect changes from the source.
  • NVE:
    • Updated the dataset name, reflecting that NVE now publishes the climate declaration for physically delivered electricity and the electricity disclosure for electricity suppliers together.
    • Updated the source link to the new dataset page.
    • Corrected activity names and activity IDs for electricity residual mix data.
  • DEWA:
    • Updated the names as the emission factors as supplier-specific.
    • Changed the region from UAE to Dubai, as DEWA supplies electricity specifically within Dubai.
  • EPPO:
    • Updated the dataset name to reflect the specific generation-based series reported by EPPO, where the data is retrieved.
    • Reclassified the electricity emission factors as production mix, as EPPO calculates them based on domestic electricity generation.
  • CAEP, Climate TRACE, Statistics Finland, UBA, UBA Austria: Updated broken source links, following updates by the sources.
  • CEDA: Corrected scope values for non-air transport emission factors:
    • Rail freight: 3.4 | 3.9
    • Sea freight: 3.4 | 3.9
    • Road freight: 3.4 | 3.9
    • Road travel: 3.6
  • CEDA, BEIS, Climatiq, Cornerstone, EPA, Market Economics Limited: Corrected scope values for air transport emission factors:
    • Air freight: 3.4 | 3.9
    • Air travel:3.6
  • ecoinvent:
    • Updated the LCA boundary to processing for emission factors representing process activities.
    • Updated the LCA boundary to cradle_to_gate for production emission factors.
    • Corrected the scope value for land use emission factors to scope 1, as these factors do not include Outside of Scopes emissions.
  • SEFR: Updated electricity supplier mix data for 2021-2023 based on latest update by the source.
  • BAFA: Updated descriptions to clarify that material emission factors represent primary (raw) materials.
  • CONCITO and 2-0 LCA, WRAP: Updated the LCA boundary to food_processing to more accurately reflect processing-stage emission factors.

Data Removed

  • Carbon Minds: Version 2.02 has been deprecated following the release of the latest version, 2.03.
