Data Release 35

This is Data Release 35, released on July 8th, 2026. To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^35. To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 35. See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.

Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The 35.35 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 35.

New Data

  • CEDA (via Watershed):
    • Spend-based emission factors for multiple activities and sectors across several countries, available in both producer and purchaser prices for 2021-2025. Regional averages provided for 2023 only.
    • Spend-based emission factors including FLAG emissions (land-use change and land management) for multiple activities and sectors across several countries, available in both producer and purchaser prices for 2021-2025.
    • Mass-based emission factors including FLAG emissions (land-use change and land management) for agricultural products, including crops, livestock and timber, for 2023. Regional averages available as well for 2023.
  • Covenant of Mayors 2026: Emission factors for domestic electricity generation for multiple countries around the world for 2018–2024. The activity-based approach provides electricity generation emissions, while the life-cycle approach provides electricity generation together with upstream emissions. Climatiq also calculated upstream-only emissions based on these two approaches.
  • Plastics Recyclers Europe: Emission factors for recycled plastics (flakes and pellets) from the EcoProfiles Recycled Plastics v1.0 database for Austria, Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, and the EU for 2022.

Data Changed

  • CEDA:
    • All emission factors from Open CEDA 2024 have been updated using the 2025 data which is the latest release from the source.
    • Corrected the year of applicability of regional averages data - it should be for year 2023.
  • Covenant of Mayors 2024: Corrected the LCA stage of the historic electricity dataset to reflect that transmission and distribution (T&D) losses are not included.
  • Green-e: Updated dataset links following changes from the source.
  • EEA: Updated source link following changes from the source.
  • BAFA: Corrected the emission factor value for an activity with an incorrect decimal point.
  • Partial greenhouse gas emission factors are now available across all supported datasets where the source reports only CO2, CH4, or N2O. This release adds newly available partial emission factors from EPA activity-based and DISER/DCCEEW (NGER), while existing partial emission factors from other sources continue to be available.
    • EPA activity-based (2021–2025): Partial CH4 and N2O emission factors without CO2 for fuels and vehicles are now available.
    • DISER/DCCEEW (NGER): Partial CO2 emission factors for cement production and industrial processes, as well as partial CH4 emission factors for fuel combustion and partial N2O emission factors for industrial processes, are now available.
    • IEA: Removed the “partial” data quality flag from electricity emission factors where CO2 and N2O are provided, while CH4 is negligible and set to zero.

Data Removed

  • CEDA: Emission factors with zero values for years 2024 and 2025 have been removed, as these represent activities that are not applicable to certain regions rather than true zero emissions. In these cases, the values indicate that no emission factor was calculated.
