This is Data Release 29, released on December 20th, 2025.
To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^29.
To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 29.
See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.
Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The
29.29 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 29.New Data
- ecoinvent v3.12: the latest version of ecoinvent includes 2.451 new emission factors on materials and manufacturing, energy, agriculture and other sectors. For updates, see Data Changed.
- Cornerstone Sustainability Data Initiative (USEEIO): Spend-based emission factors across 400+ sectors of the US economy based on the USEEIO (US Environmentally-Extended Input-Output) family of models, originally developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Cornerstone will provide ongoing support and updates for USEEIO.
- IPCC: default emission factors for fuel combustion and industrial processes in manufacturing available and applicable from 2006.
- Statistics Finland: fuel and electricity emission factors for Finland. Coverage includes years 2023–2025 for fuel and 2022–2024 for electricity.
- DEFRA/BEIS: biogenic biofuel gross calorific values for 2025.
- IEA: region specific emission factors are created for countries within IEA multi-country regions. IEA defines several multi-country regions -
Other non-OECD Asia,Other non-OECD Americas,Other Africa,Non-OECD Asia (excluding China)- and we now provide region-specific emission factors for the countries and regions that fall within these groupings.
Data Changed
- ecoinvent v3.12: updated 24.073 existing emission factors from previous versions.
- ecoinvent v3.8, v3.10, v3.11, v3.12: added the LCA activity for Market emission factors and updated scope values.
- Climatiq
- Spend-based emission factors for UK: updated to reflect corrected UK government price indices. These factors adjust UK Government emission factors for inflation and convert them to purchasers’ prices by applying trade and tax margins.
- Average commute: corrected previous values by changing underlying units from kilometers to miles. This dataset covers emissions from commuting across UK regions and uses UK Government emission factors alongside travel data from the UK Government and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
- CO₂ Emissiefactoren - Netherlands: added a data quality flag to selected refrigerant gases for 2025 where source values do not align with the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).
- DEFRA/BEIS: corrected the AR method used for biogenic CO2e fuel data, it should be AR4 for all.
