Data Release 34
This is Data Release 34, released on May 29th, 2026.
To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^34.
To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 34.
See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.
Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The
34.34 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 34.FLAG and biogenic data introduced for Agribalyse, Carbon Minds, and EXIOBASE in this release are currently in private preview.
New Data
- Agribalyse: Biogenic, land-use change (LUC), and fossil emissions are now available across all lifecycle stages (agriculture, transformation, packaging, transport, supermarket_and_distribution, consumption, total, and cradle_to_gate), enabling calculation of both PCF (sum of all three sub-indicators) and FLAG values. FLAG values were calculated by Climatiq as the sum of biogenic CO2e and LUC CO2e for all stages except agriculture, where the total CO2e (all three sub-indicators) is used as a proxy for FLAG emissions.
- Carbon Minds: Biogenic, fossil, and land-use change (LUC) sub-indicators are now available for all chemicals products.
- EXIOBASE v3.11: Land-use change (LUC) and FLAG data are now available for both Industry and Product datasets. FLAG values were calculated by Climatiq as the sum of FLAG (excl. LUC) emissions and deforestation emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
- Cornerstone Sustainability Data Initiative (eGRID): Electricity generation and transmission and distribution (T&D) losses for US for 2024. This dataset used to be developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Cornerstone will provide ongoing support and updates for eGRID.
- EPA (eGRID): Transmission and distribution (T&D) losses for 2020-2023, calculated by Climatiq using the grid gross loss percentage provided by the source.
- UBA:
- New Industrial processes data for Germany for 2024 retrieved from the dataset Liste mit Emissionsfaktoren für die Treibhausgasbilanzierung von Organisationen V2.1
- Fuel and district heating emission factors for Germany for 2024, retrieved from the dataset Emissionsbilanz erneuerbarer Energietraeger.
- DISER/DCCEEW (NGA): Emission factors for industrial processes and waste for Australia for 2025.
- DISER/DCCEEW (NGER): Emission factors for fuel combustion, flaring, industrial processes, fugitive emissions from oil and gas, greenhouse gas injection, natural gas transmission, and wastewater handling for Australia for 2025.
- ISPRA: Emission factors for fuel combustion, electricity and heating production for Italy for 2021-2024.
- Statistics Finland: District heating emission factors for Finland for 2020-2023.
- Energiforetagen Sverige: District heating emission factor for Sweden for 2024.
- Danish Energy Agency: District heating emission factors for Denmark for 2023 and 2024.
- Climatiq: District heating emission factors for Norway for 2021-2025. The factors were estimated using fuel emission factors and district heating production data to calculate average emission intensities per unit of heat supplied, with adjustments for network losses.
Data Changed
- UBA:
- Updated electricity emission factors for 2016-2023 using the dataset Entwicklung der spezifischen Treibhausgas-Emissionen des deutschen Strommix in den Jahren 1990 - 2025
- Updated emission factors for fuel, heating, electricity, and transport using the latest dataset Liste mit Emissionsfaktoren für die Treibhausgasbilanzierung von Organisationen V2.1.
- Agribalyse: Updated the LCA activity total to cradle_to_consumer-use-phase boundary to better reflect its lifecycle stage.
- Carbon Minds: A methodology data quality flag has been added to data containing positive (rather than negative) values for biogenic CO2 removals, as the production method avoids the burden of carbon capture in the supply chain.
- UNEP: Corrected the AR6 GWPs for blended (R-) refrigerants. The original emission factors used post-AR6 GWP values for the underlying constituent gases. The revised emission factors use AR6 GWP values.
- Oekobaudat 2024-I: Corrected a unit conversion error for the drawn wire - prestressing wire and strand (A1-A3) emission factor.
- UBA: Corrected the scope value for a few activities under the water treatment category.
- EXIOBASE v3.10: Corrected the scope value for a few activities under the mined materials category.
- ADEME: Added bio_average to fuel activity IDs that include biogenic emissions.
