.New Data
-
ecoinvent v3.11: includes 6.382 new emission factors across various sectors and products in multiple regions, along with updates to over 19.000 emission factors from the previous version.
-
GLEC Framework v3.1: emission data for logistics and supply chain activities.
-
UBA: fuel, heating and electricity data provided by the dataset "Emissionsbilanz erneuerbarer Energieträger".
Data Changed
This list only covers major changes. Changes covering a smaller subset of emission factors, or changes such as name or description changes, are not listed. Find a link at the end of this document to a structured table listing all changes.
-
ecoinvent: we have improved categorization, corrected activity IDs and created new specialized regions.
-
UBA: we have corrected the fuel data from the dataset "Emissionsbilanz erneuerbarer Energieträger" to clarify that the values represent net calorific values.
-
UBA: we have corrected electricity generation data from the dataset "Entwicklung der spezifischen Treibhausgas-Emissionen des deutschen Strommix in den Jahren 1990–2023" following communication with the UBA team. Specifically, we deducted 5% to account for transmission and distribution (T&D) losses from the published emission factor values. We also generated new emission factor values to reflect the T&D losses.
-
ÖKOBAUDAT 2023-I: we've updated the source link and revised the description to clarify that the 2023-I dataset is now located in the archive section of the ÖKOBAUDAT website.
Revised region names
Many regions are specific to one source. To make it clear where this is the case we have prefixed the region short codes with the source name and added the source name to the region name e.g. Rest-of-World now has the short-code "ECOINVENT_ROW" and name "Rest-of-World (Ecoinvent)"
We have also revised and normalized some of the short codes and names to improve consistency of naming between sources. For example, any region that represents Europe now has the short code "EUROPE" prefixed as needed by the source e.g. "ECOINVENT_EUROPE".
We have also corrected an error where the Ecoinvent emission factors for Europe (with Ecoinvent's region code RER) were labeled as European Union (EU).
Data Removed
