Data Release 33

This is Data Release 33, released on April 21st, 2026. To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^33. To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 33. See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.

Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The 33.33 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 33.

New Data

  • EXIOBASE v3.11: Industry-level and product-level emission factors for 2023 and 2024. Scope and gas breakdown data for 2023–2025 now available as part of EXIOBASE premium.
  • CBAM 2026: Default values for iron, steel, aluminum, cement, and fertilizers as released in 2026.
  • ADEME v23.9: Emission factors for multiple sectors including energy, transport, consumer goods, and materials from Base Carbone v23.9.
  • CEDA 2025: Scope-level emission factors (Scope 1, 2, and 3) for breakdown of total supply chain emissions by direct, electricity-related, and upstream components now available as part of Enterprise CEDA.
  • Ember: Electricity emission factors, including electricity generation and upstream emissions, for multiple countries for 2020–2025.
  • CO₂ Emissiefactoren – Netherlands: Emission factors for transport, fuels, electricity, materials, and refrigerant gases for the Netherlands, for 2026.
  • Agribalyse v3.2: Emission factors with LCA activity “cradle-to-gate”, calculated as the sum of agriculture, transformation, transport and packaging stages.

Data Changed

  • EXIOBASE v3.11:
    • Updated 2025 values to correct a source-identified issue affecting inflation-adjusted emission factors.
    • Updated several data quality flags in 2025 data as modified by the source.
    • Corrected the scope value for a few activities under the Mined Materials category.
  • Cornerstone:
    • Names for “without margins” emission factors have been updated to include the term “purchaser prices” for clarity, aligning with the “with margins” emission factors, as both apply to purchaser prices.
    • LCA activity for “without margins” data has been corrected to cradle-to-gate.
    • Descriptions have also been updated to clarify the difference between factors with and without margins and how they should be applied.
  • CEDA 2025: Dataset name has been updated to “CEDA 2025”.
  • CO₂ Emissiefactoren – Netherlands 2025:
    • Corrected the AR calculation method for electricity and heating emission factors to AR6.
    • Added a description note in transport emission factors that the source uses a different methane GWP that includes oxidation and is 30.5, higher than the standard AR5 GWP of 28.
    • Updated refrigerant gases emission factors based on the 2026 dataset.
    • Added a description note clarifying that air travel emission factors include radiative forcing, while air freight emission factors do not.
  • CO₂ Emissiefactoren – Netherlands & Belgium: Normalized fuel activity name for biogas / green gas.
  • Oekobaudat 2024-I: Corrected the activity unit of a few Building Materials and Fabricated Metal Products from kg to tonne.
  • Statistics Finland: Corrected LCA activity, scope value and descriptions for biofuel emission factors.
  • SEFR: Corrected LCA activity, scope value and descriptions for biofuel emission factors.
  • MITECO: Corrected the sector of a few transport emission factors.
  • DEFRA/BEIS: Corrected typos in a few waste emission factor descriptions to clarify that they refer to composting.
  • ADEME:
    • Updated emission factors for energy, transport, materials, and other sectors from Base Carbone v23.3, incorporating the latest revisions from Base Carbone v23.9.
    • Corrected descriptions of waste emission factors retrieved from Base Carbone v23.3.

Data Removed

  • CO₂ Emissiefactoren:
    • Removed the refrigerant “R-290 (propane)” due to a previously erroneous AR4 value reported by the source under the 2025 dataset, now corrected to AR6.
    • Removed “R601a / HC-601a (isopentane)” and “R-600a / HC-600a (isobutane)” from the 2020 dataset to avoid duplication with the corrected 2026 dataset entries, now properly listed under AR4.
