Climatiq licensing

While many of our emission factors are free to browse using our Data Explorer, most users require a license to use Climatiq data and software as part of their work. We offer various licensing options for businesses, consultancies, academics, and non-profits.

The type of license you need depends on whether you're using Climatiq for commercial or non-commercial purposes. Here are some examples:

Climatiq for Brands - Show customers you mean business when it comes to climate change.
Sustainability manager

Anna is responsible for creating emissions reports at her organization. She uses Climatiq to calculate their carbon emissions.

She is using the data for business purposes, and therefore she needs a commercial license.

Climatiq for Consultants - Help a range of businesses measure, manage, and mitigate their environmental impact.
Consultant

Marie is a consultant. She creates sustainability reports for her clients using emission factors from Climatiq.

This is commercial use. She therefore requires a consultancy license for each end customer.

Climatiq for Corporations - Make smarter sustainability decisions and put your climate footprint accounting on autopilot.
RESEARCHER

John is a researcher from a university. He uses emission factors from Climatiq for his project.

This is non-commercial use, so he does not require a commercial license. He does, however, need to give attribution.
