On a consumer level is used in the following products: extraction solvent as a cleaning solvent as a degreasing solvent and as a solvent in aerosols paints fuel wood preservatives lacquers varnishes and asphalt products. It is sourced from from naphtha or as a by product in petroleum refineries. If used as a (fossil) fuel its combustion value is 45 MJ/kg. The cut-off classification is allocatable product.
