Magnesium chloride - from titanium sponge production (magnesium chloride - from titanium sponge production - Recycled Content cut-off)

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. This product represents magnesium chloride that is produced during the production of titanium sponge using the Kroll process. The reduction and distillation step consists of the following reaction: TiCl4 + 2Mg -> Ti + 2MgCl2. The magnesium chloride produced from this reaction is sent to an electrolysis process, which recovers part of the magnesium and chlorine. This product should not be used in any other context. The cut-off classification is Recyclable. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
