Barium hydroxide (production)

The activity generating the emissions is barium hydroxide production. The reference product is barium hydroxide. This process describes the production of 1kg of barium hydroxide. It is primarily used to produce organic barium compounds, which are employed for example as additives for oil and stabilizers for plastics (Kresse et al., 2007). Another area of application comprises dehydration and deacidification, particularly when it comes to removing sulfuric acid from oils, fats, waxes and glycerol (Kresse et al., 2007).
