White spirit (production - petroleum refinery operation)

The activity generating the emissions is white spirit production, petroleum refinery operation. The Reference Product is white spirit. White spirit is an organic mixture of aliphatic, open-chain or alicyclic C7 to C12 hydrocarbons. It is liquid under normal conditions of temperature and pressure. It is modelled as a pure substance. On a consumer level, is used in the following products: extraction solvent, as a cleaning solvent, as a degreasing solvent and as a solvent in aerosols, paints, fuel, wood preservatives, lacquers, varnishes, and asphalt products. It is sourced from from naphtha or as a by product in petroleum refineries. If used as a (fossil) fuel, its combustion value is 45 MJ/kg. The Reference Product amount is 1. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity.
