Forging - steel (large open die)

Steel forging takes place in a large open die press cylindrical or block shapes and it forges pieces weight from 2 to 25 tonnes. The heated metal parts are shaped between a top die attached to a ram and a bottom die attached to a bolster, anvil, or hammer.
