Forging - steel (forging - steel - large open die)

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. This is delivering the service of 'forging, steel'. Steel forging takes place in a large open die press cylindrical or block shapes and it forges pieces weight from 2 to 25 tonnes. The heated metal parts are shaped between a top die attached to a ram and a bottom die attached to a bolster, anvil, or hammer. The service includes input materials, energy consumption, production infrastructure, emissions, waste treatment but it excludes the input of steel. The forged steel with open die forging process is used to produce larger, simpler-shaped parts such as bars, rings, and hollows. The cut-off classification is allocatable product.
