Emission factor summary

Emission factor representing the share of emissions attributable to transmission and distribution losses for district heat supplied from residual heat without co-firing. The source reports the emission factor at the end user and therefore includes distribution losses. The underlying CE Delft methodology assumes an average distribution loss of 15%, based on losses reported by heat companies. To derive the transmission-and-distribution-only emission factor, 15% of the combined use-phase and transmission-and-distribution emission factor was allocated to transmission and distribution losses. Retrieved from the excel file CO2 Emissiefactoren 2022 providing a Dutch standard list of CO2 emission factors.
