Thermoforming is the a purely stretching technique of manufacture of three-dimensional mouldings from flat plastic preforms such as films or sheets under the influence of heat and pressure or vacuum. The preferred materials for processing include amorphous thermoplastics [PVC polystyrene (PS) acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene (ABS) styrene - acrylonitrile (SAN) cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) PMMA and PC] as well as semicrystalline materials (PP PE PETP) and special laminates. This service activity represents thermoforming of plastic sheets of 200 microns to 2 mm thickness in plastic packaging for the food industry. The activity refers to an input of 1 kg of plastic sheets but the amount of plastic processed is not included. Thus this service should be used along with 1 kg of suitable material. The preferred materials for processing include amorphous thermoplastics [PVC polystyrene (PS) acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene (ABS) styrene - acrylonitrile (SAN) cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) PMMA and PC] as well as semicrystalline materials (PP PE PETP) and special laminates that economically combine the favorable properties of several polymers in one film.
