Process description: The suspension polymerization of acrylic acid produces the main product polyacrylate resin (superabsorbent). For this purpose, the process consumes caustic soda (50%), ammonia, hydrochloric acid, calcium oxide, titanium dioxide, chromium oxide, heptane, acrylic acid, and nitrogen. Utilities consumed comprise cooling water, thermal energy, steam, electricity, process water, unspecific inorganic chemical, cement, and disposal of cement. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is no allocation needed in this unit process. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 9065-11-6.
