| Methodology description | Carbon Minds provides data following two methodologies: IPCC 2021 (excluding biogenic CO2) and ISO14067. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document. See https://www.carbon-minds.com/products/data/carbon-footprint-and-lca-data/ to download the methodology. Climatiq currently offers the indicators that correspond directly to those provided by the source:
We also provide source field "bioCarbonContent" in the PCF endpoint. The land use change field includes only emissions from land-use change. Any relevant emissions from land use or management are within the "biogenic" field. |
| Limitation / key issues to note | Some emission factors use the "avoided burden" approach for co-products, resulting in negative fossil emissions. See the individual descriptions for which are affected. These are not suitable for corporate reporting under scope 3.1. |
