Emission factor summary

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.10. This is delivering the planning of a cogeneration unit used in a mini combined heat and power (CHP) plant. An engineer is assigned with the planning of the entire CHP plant and receives a fee in the order of 15% of the investment costs. These amount to about 20'000 CHF for a mini CHP plant. The engineering work in the office and the project-related car trips result in a primary energy purchase. This energy is estimated via the planning costs (3'000 CHF) with an energy intensity of 2.4 MJ/CHF and divided into 40% heating oil 10% fuel and 50% electricity. Since installation and commissioning require only a few working hours this share is neglected here. The process includes the most important materials used for production transport of these materials energy and water consumption needed for the production. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
