Polybutadiene (production)

The activity generating the emissions is polybutadiene production. The reference product is polybutadiene. Polybutadiene, is a plastic product of fossil origin, it is not biodegradable and it is a thermoset material. This product consists of 100% virgin material with no content of recycled material. The product is used in the following applications and sectors: major application is in tyres production, as well as into side walls and treads. Other applications are golf ball cores, inner tubes of hoses for sandblasting, and covers for pneumatic and water hoses. It is also common to be used as a toughening agent in plastics, in particular in high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS). The reference product amount is 1.
