Emission factor summary

Process description: The solution polymerization of acrylamide and urea produces the main product polyacrylamide (mole weight=7million). For this purpose, the process consumes caustic soda (50%), ammonia, hydrochloric acid, sodium sulfite, calcium oxide, titanium dioxide, chromium oxide, acrylamide, urea (agricultural grade), and sodium bisulfite. Utilities consumed comprise thermal energy, steam, electricity, inert gas, unspecific inorganic chemical, cement, and disposal of cement. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is no allocation needed in this unit process. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 9003-05-8. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document.
