Process description: The emulsion polymerization of ethylene and vinyl acetate produces the main product vinyl acetate/ethylene (EVA) copolymer. For this purpose, the process consumes caustic soda (50%), hydrochloric acid, calcium oxide, ethylene, hydrogen peroxide, vinyl acetate, and polyvinyl alcohol. Utilities consumed comprise cooling water, steam, electricity, inert gas, process water, unspecific inorganic chemical, cement, and disposal of cement. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is no allocation needed in this unit process. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 24937-78-8.
