Emission factor summary

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. The service "tempering, flat glass" represents the toughening of 1 kg of glass, a special process of solidification of a glass sheet in order to make it particularly resistant to breakages. The glass sheet is heated to a temperature just below its softening point (about 640°C, thermal tempering) and then immediately cooled by special jets of cold-air. These harden the surface of the glass, giving the inside more time to cool. This allows the external layer to crystallize into a wider lattice while the inside solidifies with greater compression than in the crystal lattice. The most common application is automotive glass. A user employing this module should add the respective amount of raw glass, as the throughput of raw glass is not included. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is market activity. The reference product amount is 1.
