Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. Alkyl sulphates are nonionic surfactants. This type of product can either have no colour or have a colour that is in between yellow and brown. The main application of surfactants is in the production of cleaning products for both household application and personal care (Kosswig 2000). Alkyl sulphates are used usually in a concentration around 4%. The maximum concentration used is 20%. Alkyl sulphates can and are usually mixed with other surfactants (OECD 2007).
