Emission factor summary

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. Ethoxylated alcohols are non-ionic surfactants produced from the reaction of ethylene oxide and alcohol. Ethoxilated alcohols are mainly used to produce detergents, in the cosmetic industry, in agricultural and textile products, and they can also be used in paints. Because of their structural variety, AE have very different physical and chemical properties. In comparison with other tensides like anionic surfactants, alcohol ethoxylates exhibit a better fat soil removal capacity, especially at low temperatures. Reference: Zah R., Hischier R. (2007) Life Cycle Inventories of Detergents. ecoinvent report No. 12. Swiss Centre for Life Cycle Inventories, Dübendorf, 2007. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
