Emission factor summary

Process description: The reaction of ethylene glycol and isobutylene produces the main product ethylene glycol t-butyl ether. For this purpose, the process consumes C4 fraction and ethylene glycol. Utilities consumed comprise cooling water, steam, electricity, and inert gas. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is no allocation needed in this unit process. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 7580-85-0. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document.
