Emission factor summary

Process description: The thermal decomposition of acetic acid via ketene produces the main product acetic anhydride. For this purpose, the process consumes ammonia, acetic acid, and n-butyl acetate. Utilities consumed comprise cooling water, thermal energy, steam, electricity, and inert gas. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is no allocation needed in this unit process. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 108-24-7. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document.
