Emission factor summary

Process description: The hydroperoxide process with ethylbenzene (Arco/Lyondell) produces the main product propylene oxide. For this purpose, the process consumes caustic soda (50%), hydrogen, propylene, ethylbenzene, and triphenylmethane. Utilities consumed comprise electricity, steam, thermal energy, cooling water, inert gas, and process water. Dataset type is technology-specific (core layer). Allocation type is allocation via mass. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is 75-56-9. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document.
