| Methodology description | This dataset provides Global Warming Potential (GWP) values for refrigerant gases and blends, extracted from Table A-5 of Annex I of the 2022 Assessment Report of the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee (RTOC), published by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) under the Montreal Protocol. Two types of values are provided: GWP values for pure refrigerant gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol, and GWP values for refrigerant blends containing a mixture of Kyoto-covered and non-Kyoto gases. Both are intended for use in reporting fugitive emissions from air-conditioning, refrigeration units, or other atmospheric releases, in accordance with the GHG Protocol. |
