Magnetite (production)

The activity generating the emissions is magnetite production. The reference product is magnetite. Magnetite is a black or brownish black, with a metallic lustre mineral and it has magnetic properties. It is a direct product of the reaction between iron sulphate and sodium hydroxide, while it is a by-product of ilmenite - magnetite mine operation. It can be used in the following applications and/or processes: as magnetic carrier in toner for printer applications, in clinker production and in hard coal preparation.
