The activity generating the emissions is window frame production, wood, U=1.5 W/m2K. The Reference Product is wood pellets, dry, measured as dry mass. The product wood pellet represents pelletized wood residues from sawmills and woodchips as raw materials. wood pellets have a water content of 0.1. The raw materials are firstly pre-treated and dried, then comminated and mixed. In the end they are pelletized, cooled and packed. Pellets that are packed in 15 kg-bags amount to the 20% of the production. The remaining 80% are sold unpacked. The pellets produced match the characteristics of the German standard of quality DIN-plus (certification). Wood pellets are used as wood fuel with a lower heating value of circa 13.38 MJ/kg.
