Data Release 7

This is Data Release 7, released on December 13, 2023. To use the (automatically-updating) dynamic version, you can use ^7. To use the fixed (unchanging) version, you can use 7. See more information about our data versioning scheme at the reference page.

Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The 7.7 version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 7.

Data Added

  • We added CBAM data - emission factors for iron/steel, aluminum, fertilizers and cement during the manufacturing stage of the products.

Data Changed

This list only covers major changes that cover 20+ emission factors. Changes covering a smaller subset of emission factors, or changes such as name or description changes are not listed. Find a link at the end of this document to a structured table listing all changes.

Government of Canada electricity emission factors

We updated the Canadian electricity emission factors according to the latest available data released.

The data has been published by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) under the Government of Canada. Instead of changing the name of the source from UNFCCC to ECCC to keep in line with the change of authority we have decided to name the source for the Canadian energy emissions “Government of Canada”.

We also added T&D losses for the Canadian regions.

Data Removed

  • We deleted BEIS spend-based data with COICOP code as the dataset has been deprecated by the source.
