| Methodology description | The PCAF European Building Emission Factor Database, developed by Guidehouse Netherlands B.V. on behalf of PCAF, provides physical activity-based emission factors for mortgages and commercial real estate across all EU member states, as well as Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Emission factors cover the use phase of buildings only — specifically direct emissions from on-site fuel combustion and indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling, including tenant activity. Construction, demolition, and Scope 3 emissions are excluded. |
