| Methodology description | The dataset provides electricity grid emission factors for Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak for 2022-2024. The factors represent the emission intensity of the electricity production mix within each of these three grid regions. For improved regional coverage, Climatiq applies the Peninsular Malaysia emission factor to each of the 11 states connected to the Peninsular Malaysia grid: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor, and Terengganu. These state-level factors therefore do not represent independently calculated state-specific electricity mixes; they inherit the corresponding Peninsular Malaysia grid emission factor. |
