Methodology description

The dataset reports the average emission intensity of district heating in Sweden, based on data published by Energiföretagen Sverige. The emission factors retrieved represent national average emission intensities for district heating in Sweden and include separate values for total lifecycle emissions (combustion, transport, and fuel production), combustion emissions only, and upstream emissions from fuel transport and production, expressed in gCO2e/kWh of delivered district heating.

Limitation / key issues to note

The reported values represent national average district heating emission intensities and are intended for research and general assessment purposes only; they may not accurately reflect emissions from specific local district heating networks and should not be used for facility-level emissions reporting where local supplier-specific values are available.
