Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. Sludges are produced during wet scrubbing of flue gases produced during steelmaking. They comprise, in principle, iron and other metal oxides, but composition varies widely based on technology level, charge composition, and the types and quantities of additives that are used. Basic oxygen furnace (BOF) sludges may be sent for internal or external recovery or disposal. This is BOF sludge that is sent for internal or external recovery.
