Emission factor summary

Process description: The reaction of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBPA) and bisphenol A produces the main product bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBPA) & bisphenol A (BPA) epoxy resin. For this purpose, the process consumes phenol, caustic soda (50%), chlorine, toluene, calcium oxide, propylene, methyl isobutyl ketone, acetone, and isopropanol. Utilities consumed comprise cooling water, thermal energy, steam, electricity, inert gas, unspecific inorganic chemical, cement, and disposal of cement. Dataset type is technology-specific (extension layer). Allocation type is allocation via price. In case of energy co-production, allocation via avoided burden is applied for the co-produced energy. CAS RN is unspecific. All datasets are based on the attributional LCA approach and the methodology defined in the cm.chemicals methodology document.
