Cork slab (cork slab production)

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.10. The product 'cork slab' represents cork agglomerates glued together with melamine urea-formaldehyde and phenolic resin. The cork for the agglomerated slab is triturated and sieved. The cork granules are pressed to a slab together with the agglomeration resin. This can be done in a continuous or in a batch process. Finally the slab is sanded and stored for stabilisation. Cork slab is used e. g. as underlay for floating floorings or as insulation material. This product represents an average of different cork floorings and cork underlays. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
