Cork slab (production)

The activity generating the emissions is cork slab production. The reference product is cork slab. The product cork slab represents cork agglomerates glued together with melamine, urea-formaldehyde, and phenolic resin. The cork for the agglomerated slab is triturated and sieved. The cork granules are pressed to a slab together with the agglomeration resin. This can be done in a continuous or in a batch process. Finally, the slab is sanded and stored for stabilisation. Cork slab is used e. g. as underlay for floating floorings or as insulation material. This product represents an average of different cork floorings and cork underlays. The reference product amount is 1. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary ordinary transforming activity.
