The activity generating the emissions is market for compression of sheet moulding compound. The Reference Product is compression of sheet moulding compound. This is delivering the service of "compression of sheet moulding compound". Compression SMC includes SMC prepregs manufacturing and compression moulding of SMC. SMC prepregs are laminates composed of resin (polyester), cut fibres (glass or carbon) and fillers in sheet form. The method by which SMC is produced consists of applying the resin in the form of a paste to a film; next, the fibres are cut and added to the paste. the mixture is passed through a calendering system, which ensures a uniform thickness. Finally, the sheets produced, are stored in rolls. SMC prepregs are shaped to their final form by compression which consists of placing SMC sheets in a heated mould and applying products are obtained Layers of SMC are placed in the lower half of a heated mould. When the tool is closed, the material fills the cavity and polymerizes. Once fully cured, the parts are released and left to cool down. 1 kg of this process corresponds to 0.93 kg of the final product at the end of the process. The converted amount of material (fibres and resin) is not included into the dataset. The user should list 1 kg of the service and 1kg of the resin and fibre INPUT for an OUTPUT of 0.93 kg of material processed.
